oh look, a glockenspiel!
this is definitely on my christmas list. 27 notes and colours and everything!
yes, okay, it's hard to write sad music using one,
but why would you need sad music if you owned one, hm? :)
I've got a miniature one, which is... 12 notes, I think.
but these little things should be a part of every musician's kit,
no excuses.

it's winter now and I've got enough knitwear to last a lifetime
but I still don't own a spirit hood
probably due to the ridiculous prices...
these little faux fur hoods are so cute though!

kind of wanting this mansion too..
it doesn't look too much like a mansion, but the pictures of the inside..
oh boy ヽ(´ー`)ノ
mountains, trees, a creek and waterfall nearby,
15 minute drive from the nearest city (Reykjavík, of course)
I don't even know if this is still for sale actually.. probably a good thing.
ugh it's so perfect..
someone  come buy it for me please?

ok, ignore the child and just focus on
dat lopapeysa..
i need that in my life. asap.
i love the colours, i love the pattern, and the buttons are adorable! a really nice change because most of these sort of things are pullovers, and that's not always what you want to wear.
i'll either be spending an awful lot of money in a few weeks time,
or adopting a nice Icelandic grandmother!

oh look. soundproofing stuff.
i need that, right now, because the person above me is moving things around
and i have the worst headache in the universe ;___;

this is skyr.
i am going to shove as much of this stuff in my mouth (and suitcase) as is physically possible
which won't be pretty, but it will be worth it.
high protein low fat yummy thick yoghurt yay!
somebody told me that they sell it here, so i went on a skyr hunt the other day,
but typically, you can't get it anywhere. not even in Whole Foods.

woops missed a day! that doesn't mean double the stuff though, sorry.
this lovely looking thing is
a Salted Caramel Mocha
from Starbucks.
except that they don't seem to do it in the Starbucks in London, or anywhere else in England as far as I know.
why?
I would pay a lot of money (i.e. the price of a Starbucks coffee..) for one of these!

these beautiful things also need to start being made WITHOUT animal products in them.
I have made my own marshmallows before, but they were quite... bad.
they tasted lovely, but they weren't pretty little fluffy clouds.
more like a cloud on a rainy day..

I know I definitely want one of these little bundles of fluff in my life. in fact, I neeeed one.
Holland Lop bunnies are the cutest things in the world
and actually, they remind me of a toy rabbit I had when I was really young :3
nostalgia, and cuteness, all in one bundle!

ok, so buying me a bunny for Christmas isn't really that ideal (for you.. I'd love one!)
so, ASH, if you haven't already got me something wonderful, and I'm sure you have..
why not get these Bear Earrings?
bears are probably my favourite things in the world, that aren't birds,
(or boys who play the piano),
and you can get these adorable earrings, along with a lot of other cute foresty animal things at..
The Tiny Fig online shop :)

i'm enjoying this so far, even if i only have one follower, who cares!

birds are probably my favourite animals,
and these are Lovebirds
i love their wings and their colours and their beaks and everything!
i've always wanted a pet bird, even though i'm a bit conflicted about this..
the thing i love the most about birds, as well as how pretty they are, is how free they are, and owning birds would disrupt that, i think..
hm.. when i move, and i have a big enough place, i'll make sure they have a huge cage near a window.

bears are brilliant
pyjamas are brilliant
so why not combine the two?
while i'm not totally sold on the idea of animal onesies, they are completely adorable!
so i definitely want one at somepoint :)
you can also get pikachu onesies!

the only other thing i really want right now,
is this view:
this is the road from Keflavík airport, leading into Reykjavík.
seeing this would mean that i'd be on my way to see my friends
and on my way to the only other place that i've found so far that feels as much like home as my actual home.

so,
for day two of my "things i want", i figured i may as well include a house
it's cute, right?
well this is in Grjótaþorpið, one of the oldest parts of Reykjavík.
it was for sale back in 2010, so i doubt that it'll still be on the market by the time i can afford it..
but it's quite typical of the older styles of housing in this city - and it's a style that i adore.
the only thing that could make it better would be if it were red, or close to Tjörnin.

back to something more reasonable now,
for as long as i can think, i've been interested (to an almost geeky extent) in the solar system, galaxies, stars and all things space-related.
one of the things i miss the most about being outside of London, is being able to look up and see the stars and planets, so i'd quite like a poster like this to stick up on my ceiling.
failing that, i'll be bulk-buying glow in the dark star stickers.

i want this.
in literally any shape or form. in chocolate, in a latte, as a toffee or chewy sweet. i do not care.
salted caramel is one of the nicest things ever and it neeeeds to be around more in England!

lastly
who doesn't love narwhals?
they're the unicorns of the ocean, and probably the prettiest things swimming the arctic waters.
they aren't unthinkably big (like whales), and they swim in between the ice sheets in lines, occasionally sticking their beautiful horns out of the water.
i can thank Frozen Planet for reminding me of how much i love these animals :)

basically, this blog is just going to be me posting things that i like, or things that i want to buy eventually, so expect to see everything from houses to wallpaper, cars to jewellery, art to badges, like the one below...

and even if it's kind of about death and eating animals and stuff
i still want to own it, it's so cute!
she's an artist and illustrator from Reykjavík, based in Brighton at the moment, i think.
she also provides the art for another thing that i'm currently wanting..

the latest album from Iceland's Ólafur Arnalds.
even though i've already heard every last song on this album, i still want it more than any other album that's due out in the rest of this year.
it comes with a DVD, and seven illustrations that you can hang on your wall (by Erla, or  Jónas Valtýsson)
i'm not even sure what else to say about this album, just that it is perfection.
it's my winter soundtrack, which is pretty apt considering i'll be in the creator's home country for a while.

okay okay okay
also this
mainly because i used to own a kind of off-gold coloured version of it, with larger antlers, that i got at the market in Camden, but when i was moving to and from London in the summer, i lost it and haven't found it since.
it's the perfect kind of ring, i think, especially if you love how decorative antlers can look (and also, who doesn't love deer?)

hehe, well, that's my first post here done.
i'll try and find some more outlandish stuff for tomorrow :)
